2019 Fic Year in Review

General Fic Stats: 31 fics/arts posted to AO3 in 2019-- some of which have co-authors. There are two fics in my stats that I didn't write, but I did art for. 118,505 words, 40,002 hits, and 3375 kudos shared among them.
Favorite Fic: Between the Shadows (MCU, Sam/Natasha, M)
My 2019 Captain America Big Bang fic, art by Mystrana. Dungeons & Dragons fusion. Sam is a half-elf ranger, Natasha is a drow who is forced to the Surface. This is the beginning of their grand adventure together.
Funniest Fic: Violently Technicolor (MCU, Steve/Bucky, T)
This was kind of a hard call. I didn't really write humor this year? This fic was written for a crack exchange, though, so it counts. All my other crackfic was crack-treated-seriously.
Cutest Fic: Am Cat, Fave Food Is Plastic (MCU, Gen, G)
Modern no-powers AU. Nick Fury, Carol, Maria, Monica, Natasha, and Goose play D&D.
Kinkiest Fic: Allergy Season (MCU, Bucky/Groot, E)
I think this one wins "kinkiest fic" simply by the fact that it involves both sex pollen and Groot.
Saddest Fic: When Did We Start the End? (MCU, Gen (Steve/Bucky that never was), T)
Endgame compliant, hurt-no-comfort. Kinda speaks for itself.
Most Popular Fic: You Sure Are Looking Good (MCU, Steve/Bucky, E)
My 2019 Captain America Reverse Big Bang fic, collab with DefilerWyrm. Turns out, for Steve, one of the side effects of lycanthropy is that it makes him really horny.
Least Popular Fic: Sixteen Tons (MCU, Gen, T)
Sam has a bad day at the St Louis City Museum, experience written heavily after my own panic-on-the-ten-story-slide.
Most Cringe-Worthy Fic: We Know We're Gonna Let It Burn (MCU, Steve/Rumlow, E)
Cringe-worthy because you want to yell at Steve the whole time, "No! Have some self-respect! You may not yet know that SHIELD is rotten, but you have to know that Rumlow is Not A Nice Person."
Most Challenging Fic: Between the Shadows (MCU, Sam/Natasha, M)
Because it is 31,500 words long.
Honorable Mention: Dungeon Master (MCU, Sam/Steve, E)
I actually wrote another SamSteve fic this year! I have more in my WIPs and my To-Writes, but this one actually managed to happen! Still love the ship, just hadn't really felt the muse to write them for much of this year.
General Reflections: Well, 2019 started out strong and kind of fizzled out in the last quarter. Had some good bang collabs, got to write a Bucky/Groot fic that ended up mentioned on a podcast. Wrote rather a lot of erectile dysfunction this year. We'll see what 2020 brings.
