D&D Night: Adventures with Familiars
Jun. 8th, 2019 01:57 amWell, it may not be the proper way to use a familiar, but you can do some damage to your enemies using a magical fae chihuahua.
First instance: Slew a chupacabra using the spell Catapult. I went to find something to lob at the chupacabra and kind of grabbed my familiar, who smacked into the chupacabra's head and ended up dealing the finishing blow. A tiny semi-living magical chihuahua killed the giant chupacabra.
Second instance: Party was on the fourth floor of a burning tower, surrounded by wolves and werewolves, trying to figure out how to escape. Ears, being a cat-person, used his natural climbing speed to get down the side of the tower while the rest of the party had to climb down one precarious rope. Upon reaching the bottom, Ears realized that his chihuahua was still up at the top of the tower. DM had me choose how the magical chihuahua was going to "die" (they take damage and un-form, then you can magically re-form them later healthy and whole again), whether it was smoke inhalation or falling damage. I said, he jumps out of the tower, and can he land on one of the wolves? DM rolls for it. Yes, he can. Wolf takes 3 points of bludgeoning damage from a falling chihuahua.
